The sources of these 25 years of exchanges


It was Christmas 1984. The Sankara in Burkina Faso. An invitation to Ouagadougou. First fitted to the northwest, Djibo, mountains Hombori, Mali, Timbuktu-Bamako road construction, Mopti on the banks of the River Niger, the mosque of Djenne. A population barely glimpsed, realities confused ... A hasty return. What was required of frustration for wanting to come back and approach people with quiet energy, despite the great difficulties daily.

May 1985. The opportunity of an exhibition at City Hall the taste stimulus for this Africa through guided tours that teachers perform with some groups of pupils with interclass: exchanges around colors, know-how.
Contacts are made with a small college in Burkina Faso by means of an inspector in training at the International School, then in Talence.

October 1985. Teachers send a letter to the college's rural Saponé, located 40 kilometers of tracks from the capital Ouagadougou. They were three flights to having colluded to suggest a match can motivate their students to write. They were therefore seeking Assistance to rural Africa. In November came a reply from the director of the college building which did while two classes of sixth.
In the enthusiasm of a desire to write finally found three packets of letters went to 13 December Saponé. Correspondence school would be the first step of a staircase opening onto unexpected story. 8. Valuing rural groups is that of
Koagma which has been tracked for over ten years. Both instructors are volunteers. They have two hectares of land near the dam, where they planned to learn different farming practices profitable. 9. Towards a concerted management
