Following the votes in favor of different AG of trainees have already taken place, a letter to the associations of parents of students will be sent.
It is drawing attention to the intolerable conditions of entry in this business we have chosen yet.
Here are the contents of the letter in question:
Ladies and Gentlemen,
We are many trainee teachers to have taken our position in this fall 2010. Teaching conditions and buoyant over seem seriously affected by the reform on our training. As we work together to present and future of your children, it seems essential to inform you as honestly as possible about our deteriorating working conditions.
A deterioration of working conditions that affect current
Young teachers, we are motivated by a profession that we chose, we love, and for which we wish to invest. Unfortunately, we are in such conditions that we can not exercise properly. These conditions have resulted in all of us a physical and mental fatigue that compromise the preparation courses and interactions with students. In fact, we now begin our year of full-time course: 18 hours of courses distributed over at least three levels including review classes for the majority of us. The preparation of an hour is an exercise totally new to us, and requires considerable preparation time (on average 5 hours Preparation courses for 1h). Training days, of course necessary for neophytes come to superimpose our already heavy schedules.
addition to the time pressures of work, our conditions are often very bad year: we sometimes head teachers (and therefore in charge of the orientation of our students), and often face extremely classes "difficult" (many of us have been appointed or PTA ZUS to have non-Francophone students, some are in UPI, classes with students with disabilities,). We lack the basic equipment to make progress: in high school, we do not have textbooks in many subjects, while new media programs require implementation.
We recall that in previous years, the course was reduced because new teachers ensured on average between 6 and 8 hours per week and enjoyed the rest of the time training at the hum. However, this year's teacher training remained one year very difficult. The vast majority of trainee teachers was exhausted. With an average of 10 hours of courses in addition to ensuring that this year we feel our conditions of the teaching profession becomes impossible. This increase in the hourly charge is related to catastrophic budget choices in the field of education. These choices reflect the government's irresponsibility regarding the training of students and the future: young trainee teachers are parachuted into positions of full professors, so wages are saved, while the training of trainee teachers and pupils is endangered.
Teaching, like any profession, learned!
Based in front of your children since the beginning of September, we will do our best to ensure a clear teaching, rewarding and tailored to their needs. But we all come to a state of exhaustion that severely limits our ability to build and deliver courses fulfilling, varied and dynamic, or to be sufficiently available to students. We have set aside our personal activities, which has an impact on our practice and our ability to step back (reflection on our discipline and organization of cultural outings with students ...). There are many sick or resignations, which can only undermine the good progress of pupils. Some media have talked about our situation by saying that we are incompetent, but how to be fully competent in this situation? We start and just wants to implement our skills and capabilities, which is currently not possible. That's why we ask decent conditions of learning and practicing the teaching profession, and undertake to organize ourselves to bring this request.
